Nepal reports 160 new Covid-19 cases, two deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,567 and the number of active cases stands at 5,526.Post Report
Nepal on Thursday reported 160 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 825,176.
Similarly, 24 people tested positive in a total of 3,788 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Thursday, 4,751,028 PCR and 774,212 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,230 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported two Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,567. The number of active cases stands at 5,526.
According to the ministry, 808,083 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 267 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 87 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 62 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 20 in Lalitpur and five in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 14 new infections were recorded in Province 1, five in Province 2, 105 in Bagmati, 13 in Gandaki, 15 in Lumbini, one in Karnali and seven in Sudurpaschim.
On Thursday, 111 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 28—five in Province 1, 20 in Bagmati, two in Lumbini and one in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday reported 252 new coronavirus cases and six deaths. Similarly, 229 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Tuesday and 313 new coronavirus cases and three deaths were recorded on Monday.
