Nepal reports 252 new Covid-19 cases, six deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,565 and the number of active cases stands at 5,635.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 252 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 825,016.
Similarly, 28 people tested positive in a total of 2,782 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 4,743,798 PCR and 770,424 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 9,212 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported six Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,565. The number of active cases stands at 5,635.
According to the ministry, 807,816 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 300 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 118 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 89 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 20 in Lalitpur and nine in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 35 new infections were recorded in Province 1, nine in Province 2, 133 in Bagmati, 50 in Gandaki, 10 in Lumbini, two in Karnali and 13 in Sudurpaschim.
On Wednesday, 112 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 25—six in Province 1, 17 in Bagmati and two in Lumbini —were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 229 new coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 313 new coronavirus cases and three deaths were recorded on Monday and 242 new coronavirus cases and one death was recorded on Sunday.
