Nepal reports 269 new Covid-19 cases, three deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,570 and the number of active cases stands at 5,522.Post Report
Nepal on Friday reported 269 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 825,445.
Similarly, five people tested positive in a total of 1,325 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Friday, 4,758,719 PCR and 775,537 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,691 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported three Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,570. The number of active cases stands at 5,522.
According to the ministry, 808,353 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 270 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 161 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 111 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 30 in Lalitpur and 20 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 19 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 15 in Province 2, 185 in Bagmati, 24 in Gandaki, 18 in Lumbini, four each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim.
On Friday, 104 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 25—four in Province 1, 18 in Bagmati, two in Lumbini and one in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Thursday reported 160 new coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 252 new coronavirus cases and six deaths were recorded on Wednesday and 229 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Tuesday.
