Nepal reports 241 new Covid-19 cases, two deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,581 and the number of active cases stands at 5,161.Post Report
Nepal on Thursday reported 241 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 826,664.
Similarly, 52 people tested positive in a total of 2,116 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Thursday, 4,801,007 PCR and 795,283 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 9,510 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported two Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,581. The number of active cases stands at 5,161.
According to the ministry, 809,922 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 263 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 148 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 101 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 34 in Lalitpur and 13 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 16 new infections were recorded in Province 1, nine in Province 2, 169 in Bagmati, 23 in Gandaki, 11 in Lumbini, three in Karnali and 10 in Sudurpaschim.
On Thursday, 96 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 22—six in Province 1, 14 in Bagmati and one each in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday reported 217 new coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 252 new coronavirus cases and three deaths were reported on Tuesday and 218 new coronavirus cases and one death were reported on Monday.
