Nepal reports 209 new Covid-19 cases, two deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,590 and the number of active cases stands at 4,864.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 209 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 827,972.
Similarly, 11 people tested positive in a total of 1,175 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 4,844,656 PCR and 810,716 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 6,433 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported two Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,590. The number of active cases stands at 4,864.
According to the ministry, 811,518 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 253 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 123 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 92 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 18 in Lalitpur and 13 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, nine new infections were recorded in Province 1, 11 in Province 2, 137 in Bagmati, 37 in Gandaki, 10 in Lumbini, one in Karnali and four in Sudurpaschim.
On Wednesday, 87 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 21—four in Province 1 and 17 in Bagmati—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 241 new coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 251 new coronavirus cases and one death were recorded on Monday and 213 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Sunday.
