National Covid-19 tally reaches 828,207 with 235 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Thursday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 11,590.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 235 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 828,207.
Similarly, six people tested positive in a total of 2,083 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
According to the ministry, 811,746 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 228 of them in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 4,871.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 145 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 109 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 25 in Lalitpur and 11 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, eight new infections were recorded in Province 1, 12 in Province 2, 166 in Bagmati Province, 33 in Gandaki, seven in Lumbini, three in Karnali and six in Sudurpaschim.
As of Thursday, 4,851,470 PCR and 812,799 antigen tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 6,814 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Eighty-three individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country on Thursday. Another 23—four in Province 1 and 19 in Bagmati—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday reported 209 new coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 241 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were recorded on Tuesday and 251 new coronavirus cases and one death were reported on Monday.
