Nepal reports 242 new Covid-19 cases, two deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,518 and the number of active cases stands at 7,287.Post Report
Nepal on Thursday reported 242 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 820,527.
Similarly, 28 people tested positive in a total of 2,617 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Friday, 4,599,489 PCR and 723,978 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,829 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported two Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,518. The number of active cases stands at 7,287.
According to the ministry, 801,722 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 302 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 134 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 92 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 30 in Lalitpur and 12 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 33 new infections were recorded in Province 1, six in Province 2, 159 in Bagmati, 16 in Gandaki, 23 in Lumbini and one in Karnali and four in Sudurpaschim.
On Friday, 175 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 33—14 in Province 1, 17 in Bagmati and one each in Gandaki and Lumbini—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Thursday reported 281 new coronavirus cases and three deaths. Similarly,305 new coronavirus cases and four deaths were recorded on Wednesday and 313 new coronavirus cases and nine deaths were reported on Tuesday.
