Nepal reports 313 new Covid-19 cases, nine deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,509 and the number of active cases stands at 7,300.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 313 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 819,699.
Similarly, 38 people tested positive in a total of 1,445 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Tuesday, 4,576,966 PCR and 717,226 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 8,729 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported nine Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,509. The number of active cases stands at 7,300.
According to the ministry, 800,890 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 273 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 144 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 105 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 30 in Lalitpur and nine in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 56 new infections were recorded in Province 1, six in Province 2, 183 in Bagmati, 26 in Gandaki, 29 in Lumbini, one in Karnali and 12 in Sudurpaschim.
On Tuesday, 223 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 51—17 in Province 1, 23 in Bagmati and 11 in Gandaki—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 367 new coronavirus cases and four deaths. Similarly, 232 new coronavirus cases and one death was reported on Sunday and 209 new coronavirus cases and one death were reported on Saturday.
