Nepal reports 232 new Covid-19 cases, one death
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,496 and the number of active cases stands at 7,164.Post Report
Nepal on Sunday reported 232 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 819,019.
Similarly, six people tested positive in a total of 1,278 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Sunday, 4,558,316 PCR and 713,005 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,845 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported one Covid-19-related fatality.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,496. The number of active cases stands at 7,164.
According to the ministry, 800,359 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 370 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 130 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 98 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 24 in Lalitpur and eight in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 33 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 13 in Province 2, 142 in Bagmati, 21 in Gandaki, 19 in Lumbini, two each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim.
On Sunday, 227 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 51—14 in Province 1, 24 in Bagmati, 12 in Gandaki and one in Lumbini—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Saturday reported 209 new coronavirus cases and one death. Similarly, 271 new coronavirus cases and five deaths were reported on Friday and 272 new coronavirus cases and six deaths were reported on Thursday.
