Nepal reports 271 new Covid-19 cases, five deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,494 and the number of active cases stands at 7,539.Post Report
Nepal on Friday reported 271 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 818,578.
Similarly, 25 people tested positive in a total of 1,195 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Friday, 4,546,326 PCR and 708,736 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,777 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported five Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,494. The number of active cases stands at 7,539.
According to the ministry, 799,545 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 369 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 120 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 91 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 19 in Lalitpur and 10 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 59 new infections were recorded in Province 1, eight in Province 2, 145 in Bagmati, 29 in Gandaki, 20 in Lumbini, one in Karnali and eight in Sudurpaschim.
On Friday, 231 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 56—13 in Province 1, 30 in Bagmati, 12 in Gandaki and one in Lumbini—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Thursday reported 272 new coronavirus cases and six deaths. Similarly, 363 new coronavirus cases and one death was reported on Wednesday and 339 new coronavirus cases and four deaths were recorded on Tuesday.
