Nepal reports 272 new Covid-19 cases, six deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,489 and the number of active cases stands at 7,642.Post Report
Nepal on Thursday reported 272 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 818,307.
Similarly, 27 people tested positive in a total of 3,288 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Thursday, 4,538,549 PCR and 707,541 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,863 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported six Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,489. The number of active cases stands at 7,642.
According to the ministry, 799,176 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 260 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 120 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 90 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 25 in Lalitpur and five in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 50 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 13 in Province 2, 148 in Bagmati, 29 in Gandaki, 28 in Lumbini, one in Karnali and three in Sudurpaschim.
On Thursday, 224 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 60—16 in Province 1, 31 in Bagmati, 12 in Gandaki and one in Lumbini—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday reported 363 new coronavirus cases and one death. Similarly, 339 new coronavirus cases and four deaths were reported on Tuesday and 367 new coronavirus cases and one death was recorded on Monday.
