With 1,584 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 622,640

Nepal on Monday reported 1,584 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 622,640.
Similarly, 713 people tested positive in a total of 4,321 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Monday, 3,275,849 PCR and 146,883 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 6,583 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 46 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 8,772. The number of active cases stands at 53,940.
According to the ministry, 559,928 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 3,130 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 379 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 285 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 61 in Lalitpur and 33 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 433 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 69 in Province 2, 602 in Bagmati, 402 in Gandaki, 59 in Lumbini, 11 in Karnali and eight in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 39 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 19 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Monday, 811 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 237— 37 in Province 1, two in Province 2, 154 in Bagmati, 21 in Gandaki, 12 in Lumbini, three in Karnali and eight in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported 1,421 new coronavirus cases and 51 deaths. Similarly, 1,688 new coronavirus cases and 34 deaths were reported on Saturday and 1,963 new cases and 44 Covid-19 related deaths were reported on Friday.
