With 6,677 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 535,525
The Health Ministry reports 145 new deaths including figures from the past few days based on statistics from the Nepal Army.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 6,677 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 535,525.
Similarly, 37 people tested positive in a total of 322 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 169 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 6,845. The number of active cases stands at 117,077.
According to the ministry, 411,603 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 6,716 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,493 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 1,139 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 241 in Lalitpur and 113 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 369 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 481 in Province 2, 2,579 in Bagmati, 1,159 in Gandaki, 1,074 in Lumbini, 239 in Karnali and 276 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 50 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and other 13 districts host more than 200 active cases each.
As of Wednesday, 2,977,650 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 19,030 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
On Tuesday, 1,671 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 434—48 in Province 1, 35 in Province 2, 279 in Bagmati, 34 in Gandaki, 19 in Lumbini, seven in Karnali and 12 in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 8,387 new cases and 169 Covid-19 related fatalities. Similarly, 7,220 new cases and 185 Covid-19-related fatalities were reported on Monday and 7,598 new cases and 193 Covid-19 related fatalities were reported on Sunday
