Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,279 with 33 more deaths
With 5,657 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 38,813 according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Friday reported 33 more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,279. The country also recorded 5,657 new cases and 70 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 323,187 with 38,813 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 281,095 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 928 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 2,956 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 2,404 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 419 in Lalitpur and 133 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 3,259 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 81 in Gandaki, 1,411 in Lumbini, 324 in Province 1, 309 in Province 2, 137 in Sudurpaschim and 136 in Karnali province.
As of Friday, 2,473,956 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 15,391 PCR and 525 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Friday, 331 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. 115 others—72 in Bagmati, 20 in Lumbini, seven each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim, six in Province 1, two in Province 2 and one in Gandaki—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Thursday had reported 35 Covid-19 related fatalities and 4,831 new cases. Similarly, 17 Covid-19 related deaths and 3,211 new cases were reported on Wednesday and 18 Covid-19 related deaths and 3,194 new cases were reported on Tuesday.
