Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,194 with 18 more deaths
With 4,364 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 26,225 according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 18 more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,194. The country also recorded 4,364 new cases and 160 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 307,925 with 26,225 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 278,506 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 555 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,966 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,602 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 240 in Lalitpur and 124 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 2,207 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 214 in Gandaki, 1,368 in Lumbini, 179 in Province 1, 178 in Province 2, 102 in Sudurpaschim and 116 in Karnali province.
As of Tuesday, 2,432,089 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 14,672 PCR and 1,009 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Tuesday, 315 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. 84 others—57 in Bagmati, 21 in Lumbini, four in Sudurpaschim and one each in Gandaki and Province 1—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 12 Covid-19 related deaths and 3,442 new cases. Similarly, 28 Covid-19 related fatalities and 3,032 new cases were reported on Sunday and 14 Covid-19 related fatalities and 2,486 new cases were reported on Saturday.
