Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,211 with 17 more deaths
With 4,774 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 30,209 according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 17 more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,211. The country also recorded 4,774 new cases and 123 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 312,699 with 30,209 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 279,279 infected people have recovered from the disease so far. Of them, 773 in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 2,047 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,464 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 351 in Lalitpur and 232 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 2,335 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 344 in Gandaki, 1,133 in Lumbini, 242 in Province 1, 291 in Province 2, 260 in Sudurpaschim and 169 in Karnali province.
As of Wednesday, 2,445,968 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 13,879 PCR and 955 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Wednesday, 317 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. 98 others—64 in Bagmati, 22 in Lumbini, four in Sudurpaschim, four in Karnali, three in Province 1 and one in Gandaki—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 18 Covid-19 related deaths and 4,364 new cases. Similarly, 12 Covid-19 related deaths and 3,442 new cases were reported on Monday and 28 Covid-19 related fatalities and 3,032 new cases were reported on Sunday.
