Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,164 with 28 more deaths
With 3,032 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 19,382 according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Sunday reported 28 more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,164. The country also recorded 3,032 new cases and 90 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 300,119 with 19,382 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 277,573 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 450 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,498 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,132 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 270 in Lalitpur and 96 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 1,585 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 183 in Gandaki, 720 in Lumbini, 178 in Province 1, 168 in Province 2, 45 in Sudurpaschim and 153 in Karnali province.
As of Sunday, 2,405,017 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 9,292 PCR and 786 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Sunday, 252 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Sixty-five others—44 in Bagmati, 16 in Lumbini, four in Sudurpaschim and one in Gandaki —were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Saturday had reported 14 Covid-19 related fatalities and 2,486 new cases. Similarly, five Covid-19 related fatalities and 3,122 new cases were reported on Friday and five Covid-19 related fatalities and 2,365 new cases were reported on Thursday.
