Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,122 with five more deaths
With 2,449 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 14,724 according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Friday reported five more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,122. The country also recorded 2,449 new cases and 110 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 294,601 with 14,724 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 276,755 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 410 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 940 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 760 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 106 in Lalitpur and 74 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 1,053 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 112 in Gandaki, 785 in Lumbini, 107 in Province 1, 157 in Province 2, 117 in Sudurpaschim and 118 in Karnali province.
As of Friday, 2,388,200 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 8,798 PCR and 866 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Friday, 173 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Fifty-seven others—39 in Bagmati, 14 in Lumbini, three in Sudurpaschim and one in Gandaki —were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Thursday reported five Covid-19 related fatalities and 2365 new cases. Similarly, ten Covid-19 related fatalities and 3,112 new cases were reported on Wednesday and eleven Covid-19 related fatalities and 1,667 new cases were recorded on Tuesday.
