Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,102 with eleven more deaths
With 1,667 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 8,659, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported eleven more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,102. The country also recorded 1,667 new cases and 69 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 287,567 with 8,659 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 275,806 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 251 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 690 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 550 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 105 in Lalitpur and 35 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 775 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 56 in Gandaki, 521 in Lumbini, 110 in Province 1, 99 in Province 2, 79 in Sudurpaschim and 27 in Karnali province.
As of Tuesday, 2,360,557 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 8,055 PCR and 683 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Tuesday, 160 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Forty-five others—30 in Bagmati, 11 in Lumbini, one each in Sudurpaschim, Karnali and Province 2 —were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday had reported eight Covid-19 related fatalities and 1,227 new cases. Similarly, eight Covid-19 related fatalities and 1015 new cases were recorded on Sunday and five Covid-19 related fatalities and 768 new cases were reported on Saturday.
