Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,083 with eight more deaths
With 1,015 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 6,290, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Sunday reported eight more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,083. The country also recorded 1,015 new cases and 81 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 284,673 with 6,290 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 275,300 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 262 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 435 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 326 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 64 in Lalitpur and 45 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 475 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 84 in Gandaki, 272 in Lumbini, 60 in Province 1, 70 in Province 2, 23 in Sudurpaschim and 31 in Karnali province.
As of Sunday, 2,345,501 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 5,084 PCR and 699 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Sunday, 116 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Forty-six others—28 in Bagmati, 11 in Lumbini, three in Sudurpaschim, two in Karnali and one each in Province 1 and Gandaki—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Saturday had reported five Covid-19 related fatalities and 768 new cases. Similarly, four Covid-19 related fatalities and 836 new cases were recorded on Friday and five Covid-19 deaths and 490 new infections were reported in the country on Thursday.
