Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,066 with five more deaths
With 490 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 4,384, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Thursday reported five more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,066. The country also recorded 490 new cases and 44 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 282,054 with 4,384 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 274,604 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 157 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 196 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 145 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 43 in Lalitpur and eight in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 206 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 67 in Gandaki, 133 in Lumbini, 24 in Province 1, 27 in Province 2, 13 in Sudurpaschim and 20 in Karnali province.
As of Tuesday, 2,329,547 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 3,588 PCR and 564 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Thursday, 91 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Thirty-five others—24 in Bagmati, eight in Lumbini, one in Province 1 and two in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday reported three Covid-19 deaths and 580 new infections. Similarly, five Covid-19 deaths and 460 new infections were recorded on Tuesday and 13 Covid-19 deaths and 496 new infections were reported on Monday.
