Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,061 with three more deaths
With 580 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 4,056, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported three more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,061. The country also recorded 580 new cases and 23 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 281,564 with 4,056 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 274,447 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 129 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 254 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 173 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 61 in Lalitpur and 20 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 313 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 26 in Gandaki, 137 in Lumbini, 22 in Province 1, 44 in Province 2, 24 in Sudurpaschim and 14 in Karnali province.
As of Tuesday, 2,325,959 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 4,289 PCR and 451 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Wednesday, 80 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Twenty-five others—18 in Bagmati, five in Lumbini and two in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported five Covid-19 deaths and 460 new infections. Similarly, 13 Covid-19 deaths and 496 new infections were recorded on Monday and one Covid-19 death and 303 new infections were reported on Sunday.
