Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,053 with 13 more deaths
With 496 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 3,306, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Monday reported 13 more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,053. The country also recorded 496 new cases and 63 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 280,524 with 3,306 active cases (excluding antigen positives).
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 274,165 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 138 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 211 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 159 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 44 in Lalitpur and eight in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 235 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 36 in Gandaki, 122 in Lumbini, 32 in Province 1, 44 in Province 2, 21 in Sudurpaschim and six in Karnali province.
As of Monday, 2,317,284 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 4,378 PCR and 727 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Monday, 92 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Fifteen others—14 in Bagmati and one in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported one Covid-19 death and 303 new infections. Similarly, one Covid-19 death and 337 new infections were recorded on Saturday and 288 new infections were reported in the country on Friday.
