Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,058 with five more deaths
With 460 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 3,608, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported five more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,058. The country also recorded 460 new cases and 57 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 280,984 with 3,608 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 274,318 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 153 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 201 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 161 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 28 in Lalitpur and 12 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 215 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 38 in Gandaki, 58 in Lumbini, 44 in Province 1, 62 in Province 2, 29 in Sudurpaschim and 14 in Karnali province.
As of Tuesday, 2,321,670 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 4,386 PCR and 817 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Tuesday, 97 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Twenty others—15 in Bagmati, four in Lumbini and one in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 13 Covid-19 deaths and 496 new infections. Similarly, one Covid-19 death and 303 new infections were recorded on Sunday and one Covid-19 death and 337 new infections were reported on Saturday.
