Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,075 with five more deaths
With 768 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 5,545, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Saturday reported five more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,075. The country also recorded 768 new cases and 75 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 283,658 with 5,545 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 275,038 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 208 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 395 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 312 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 74 in Lalitpur and nine in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 436 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 28 in Gandaki, 109 in Lumbini, 32 in Province 1, 91 in Province 2, 40 in Sudurpaschim and 32 in Karnali province.
As of Saturday, 2,340,417 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 5,333 PCR and 671 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Saturday, 94 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Forty-five others—26 in Bagmati, 14 in Lumbini, three in Sudurpaschim and one each in Gandaki and Karnali—were on ventilator support.
