Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,091 with eight more deaths
With 1,227 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 7,254, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Monday reported eight more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,091. The country also recorded 1,227 new cases and 54 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 285,900 with 7,254 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 275,555 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 255 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 634 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 505 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 97 in Lalitpur and 32 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 692 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 85 in Gandaki, 204 in Lumbini, 64 in Province 1, 80 in Province 2, 94 in Sudurpaschim and eight in Karnali province.
As of Monday, 2,352,502 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,001 PCR and 547 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Monday, 148 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Forty-three others—27 in Bagmati, 10 in Lumbini, two in Sudurpaschim, two in Karnali and one each in Province 1 and Gandaki—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday had reported eight Covid-19 related fatalities and 1,015 new cases. Similarly, five Covid-19 related fatalities and 768 new cases were recorded on Saturday and four Covid-19 related fatalities and 836 new cases were reported on Friday.
