Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,176 with 12 more deaths
With 3,442 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 22,434 according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Monday reported 12 more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,176. The country also recorded 3,442 new cases and 114 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 303,561 with 22,434 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 277,951 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 378 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,912 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,567 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 223 in Lalitpur and 122 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 2,153 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 151 in Gandaki, 544 in Lumbini, 244 in Province 1, 193 in Province 2, 140 in Sudurpaschim and 17 in Karnali province.
As of Monday, 2,417,417 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 12,400 PCR and 893 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Monday, 268 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. 78 others—49 in Bagmati, 23 in Lumbini, four in Sudurpaschim and one each in Gandaki and Province 1—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday had reported 28 Covid-19 related fatalities and 3,032 new cases. Similarly, 14 Covid-19 related fatalities and 2,486 new cases were reported on Saturday and five Covid-19 related fatalities and 3,122 new cases were reported on Friday.
