National Covid-19 tally reaches 276,750 with 85 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said Saturday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 3,024.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 85 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 276,750.
According to the ministry, 272,435 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 93 of them in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 1,288.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 50 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 37 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, eight in Lalitpur and five in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 52 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 10 in Gandaki, 16 in Lumbini, three each in Province 1 and Sudurpaschim.
As of Saturday, 2,259,045 PCR tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 2,745 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal had reported 156 new Covid-19 cases on Friday. Similarly, 120 covid-19 infections on Thursday and 145 new covid-19 cases were recorded on Wednesday.
