Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 1,885 with seven more deaths; national tally reaches 262,262 with 403 new infections

Nepal on Monday reported seven more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,885. The country also recorded 403 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 262,262 with 5,289 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 255,088 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; of them 594 in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 185 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 140 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 24 in Bhaktapur and 21 in Lalitpur.
As of Monday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 122,041. While Kathmandu has reported 475 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 147 and 107 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 940 individuals from Bagmati Province, 238 from Lumbini Province, 217 from Province 1, 215 from Province 2, 188 from Gandaki Province, 62 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 25 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Monday, 1,952,903 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 4,401 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, 13 new infections were reported in Province 1, 16 in Province 2, and 221 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 45, 70 and 38 cases respectively. Karnali Province did not record any cases today.
While Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases, Sunsari, Solukhumbu and Mugu districts do not have any active cases, according to the ministry.
While 209 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 34 others—14 in Bagmati Province, 10 in Lumbini, seven in Gandaki and one each in Province 1, Karnali and Sudurpaschim—are on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported eight Covid-19-related fatalities and 421 new cases. The country had recorded six Covid-19 related deaths and 419 new cases on Saturday. Similarly, eight deaths and 426 new cases were recorded on Friday and nine deaths and 534 new infections on Thursday.
