Baglung
Three people were killed after a flood swept away a motorcycle and a scooter in Baglung district early Friday morning.
The victims, identified as Arjun Sapkota, 23, Avisekh Regmi, 22, and Kamal Sapkota, 20, were washed away by the flood at around 12:30 am. While two bodies were recovered during the night, the body of Kamal Sapkota was found on Friday morning.
“Their bodies were located 300 metres downstream from the flooded road,” said Police Inspector Pratap Paudel. The bodies have been sent to Dhaulagiri Hospital for post-mortem.
Rescue efforts were delayed due to heavy rainfall that had been ongoing since 7 pm on Thursday, said Paudel.
