Police have arrested 120 fugitives sentenced to serve time in prison, fined, or both after being convicted of a crime by the West Nawalparasi District Court.
The fugitives were arrested over the course of two weeks. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Resham Bohora of the District Police Office, among the 120 fugitives, 56 have been presented to the district court as of Wednesday and have been either sent to prison, fined, or both.
Most of the fugitives were hiding in India after being convicted of crimes and were arrested when they entered Nepal. Fugitives usually flee to India due to the porous border between the two countries.
