Members of the Gandaki Provincial Assembly have taken the oath of office and secrecy on Thursday.
Mitra Lal Basyal, the senior-most member of the Assembly, administered the oath to 59 lawmakers in the hall of the Provincial Assembly in Nadipur, Pokhara at 1 pm.
Three lawmakers have taken the oath in their mother tongue.
Earlier on Wednesday, Basyal took the oath of office and secrecy administered by Prithvi Man Gurung, the Head of Gandaki Province.
Meanwhile, Gurung has called for the first session of the newly-elected Assembly for January 2 next year.
In the 60-member provincial assembly, 36 were elected through First-Past-The-Post and 24 through the proportional ballot. The lawmakers represent five parties in the Assembly.
Nepali Congress is the largest party in the Assembly with 27 seats. Similarly, CPN-UML with 22 seats is the second largest, followed by the CPN (Maoist Centre) with eight seats.
Rastriya Prajatantra Party has secured two seats through proportional ballot and CPN (Unified Socialist) one after Deepak Manange, who was elected independently, joined the party.
