Parbat
Twenty-two candidates who had filed nominations in the recently held Federal and Provincial Elections have lost their security deposits for failing to secure 10 percent of the total valid votes.
District Election Officer Lakshu Sharma informed that 10 federal election candidates and seven provincial election candidates from Parbat 1 (A) and five from Parbat 1 (B) lost their election deposits.
Sharma said that 12 candidates had filed nominations for the lone federal seat from the district.
Likewise, nine candidates had filed nominations from Parbat 1 (A) and seven from Parbat 1(B).
Only candidates from the CPN-UML and the ruling coalition had secured votes past the threshold, said Sharma.
