Flood damages four houses and bridge in Gorkha

A flood in Namrung river in ward 4 of Chumnubri Rural Municipality, Gorkha district damaged four houses and a footbridge early Sunday morning.
The flood, which struck at around 3:30am, destroyed the mud houses, according to police.
It also swept away a metal bridge used by pedestrians and pack horses on the route from Narbu to Lho.
A team from the Larke police post has reached the area. No casualties have been reported, Deputy Superintendent of Police Raj Kumar Shrestha said.
The remote settlement has no road access and can be reached only after about two days on foot from the district headquarters.
