Khagendra Thapa Magar, who had entered the Guinness Book of World Records for being the shortest man in the world on October 14, 2010, passed away on Friday at Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara.
Magar was admitted to the hospital on Thursday. He was being treated for pneumonia in the intensive care unit, according to Min Bahadur Rana, the chairman of Khagendra Thapa Magar Foundation.
Magar was also suffering from respiratory issues, haemoglobin deficiency and high white blood cell count.
Born in Dhullubaskot, Baglung, Magar was adjudged the world’s shortest man by the Guinness committee at the age of 18. He measured 67.08 cm at the time.
