Machhindra FC, Tribhuvan Army register wins

Machhindra FC registered their third straight win in the National League after defeating Planning Boyz United 2-0 in the first match of Saturday at Dasharath Stadium.
Machhindra scored the first goal as Saurav Limbu found the back of the net in the 41st minute. In the second half, Jonathan Eduardo Cantilana Zorrila scored in the 74th minute to make it 2-0.
It was Zorrila’s second goal of the league. His first came in the 2-1 win over Manang Marsyangdi Club.
Zorrila had a chance to make it 3-0 on Saturday. However, he missed a penalty in the 87th minute.
There was another penalty miss on Saturday, during the second match of the day between Chitlang FC and Tribhuvan Army FC.
Aron Thapa missed the penalty in the ninth minute to score first for Chitlang. And the miss cost them dearly.
While Chitlang scored first, thanks to a goal by Mathew Babatunde Olanrewaju in the 28th minute, Army made it 2-0 within the first half as Dinesh Henjan and Nawayug Shrestha scored in the 40th and 45+2 minutes, respectively.
Before Henjan made it 4-0 in the 82nd minute, Nabin Lama scored from the penalty spot for Army in the 63rd.
The fifth goal for Army was a result of an own goal by Chitlang’s Narendra Chaudhary in the 85th.
Meanwhile, Sunday is going to be a huge day in the league with three big fixtures.
Six A-Division clubs will be in action on Sunday, with the first match of the day being played between New Road Team and Friends’ Club Kopundole at the ANFA Complex at 11am.
The remaining two matches will be played at Dasharath Stadium. Sankata FC will face APF FC with the match kicking off at 2pm. It will be followed by a faceoff between Jawalakhel Youth Club and Church Boys United at 6:30pm.
