Nepal are facing India in the opening game of the SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, Bhutan, today. Nepal’s game kicks off at 3pm Nepali time.
The fixture will be followed by Bangladesh vs Bhutan at 6pm.
The four teams will play each other twice in a double round-robin format, with the team having the most points in the league table crowned as champions.
“We have prepared well,” Nepal’s head coach Chet Narayan Shrestha said in the pre-tournament conference on Tuesday. “Four of us coaches have trained our players individually as well.”
Nepal will face Bhutan and Bangladesh on August 22 and 24, respectively, before the second round begins with Nepal vs Bangladesh on August 27.
