Nepal trim U-20 squad to 30 membersThe U-20 SAFF Championship has been scheduled for July 25–August 3 in India.
Nepal on Sunday announced a 30-man preliminary squad for the upcoming SAFF U-20 Championship and AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers.
U-20 coach Meghraj KC reduced the initial 41-man team to 30 after almost a month of closed camp.
Amar Bahadur Newar, Top Bahadur Rana, Jam Tamli, Khemraj Shrestha, Pradip Lamsal, Sanjeev Lama, Rakesh Bishwokarma, Binaya Basnet Chhetri, Raj Bhusal, Maldina Angthumpo and Jabindra Bhattarai have been left out after the primary training camp.
The U-20 SAFF Championship has been scheduled for July 25–August 3 in India.
Nepal will begin their SAFF campaign against Maldives on July 25. They play Sri Lanka on July 27 followed by India on July 31. Nepal take on Bangladesh in their final group match on August 2.
Following the SAFF, the U-20 team are set to play their first match of the Asian Cup Qualifiers against Bhutan on September 10, Qatar on September 12, hosts Bahrain on September 14 and Bangladesh on September 18.
