Machhindra Club forward Manish Dangi has been discharged from hospital after three days of treatment.
The 20-year-old Nepali international sustained a head injury following a collision with Chyasal defender Yannick Ketch in their Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League match at the Dasharath Stadium on Saturday.
He lost consciousness for five minutes and regained it after players and the medical team helped him with Cardiopulmonary resuscitation. He was then rushed to the nearby Blue Cross Hospital. According to the hospital, he is out of danger.
Leaders Machhindra, who are yet to play three matches in the league and could be assured of the title if they win their next match, said that they would give rest to Dangi for the remaining three matches.
Meanwhile, ANFA on Tuesday organising a press conference said that they had not compromised on players’ health and have a four-member medical team on standby at every match in the game. "We have given high priority to players’ safety with two ambulances and four medical staff on standby during matches," said All Nepal Football Association General Secretary Indraman Tuladhar.
However, no ANFA doctor attended Dangi at the ground on Saturday. "We have picked doctors from Isara Hospital through a tender process and we will seek clarification why they were not in the field on Saturday," said Tuladhar adding they were ready to improve on health care facilities if there were any weaknesses.
