Shree Kumari Club and Bansbari Club emerged victorious in their penultimate matches of the Martyrs Memorial 'B' Division League at the ANFA Complex, Satdobato, on Sunday.
Shree Kumari edged Nayabasti Club 4-3 to register their third victory of the campaign while Bansbari thumped Jhamsikhel Youth Club 4-0 to strengthen their grip in third place. Satdobato Youth Club have already secured their promotion to 'A' Division as champions with two matches to spare.
Ashish Rai scored twice for Shree Kumari while Bibek Pun and Pamba Yolmu netted one each, Bihek Gurung, Sajan Rai and Suman Rai were on targets for Nayabasti.
Ashish Rai opened the scoring for Shree Kumari in the 11th minute before Bibek Gurung equalised in the 21st. Nayabasti went into the break with a 2-1 lead when Sajan Rai found the back of the net in the first-half stoppage time. Pamba Yolmu hit back for Shree Kumari in the 58th and Ashish Rai made it 4-2 in the 90th minute. Suman Rai pulled one in the dying moments for Nayabasti but it was not enough.
With the outcome, Shree Kumari accumulated 11 points and climbed to eighth position from tenth while Nayabasti remained unchanged in sixth place with 12 points.
In another match, Nishan Sunar scored twice in Bansbari's win over Jhamsikhel while Kamal Khawas and Ajay Rajbanshi added one each.
Sunar opened scoring in the 26th and Khawas added second in the 38th. Rajbanshi made it 3-0 during an hour mark before Sunar added another in the 68th to seal the comprehensive victory.
After their seventh win, Bansbari have 21 points and are confirmed at least third place finish in the league. They have a four-point lead over the fourth placed Boys Union Club. Jhamsikhel are second from the bottom with six points in the 12-team contest. The team finishing at the bottom of table will be relegated to 'C' Division.
