Nepal cruise to ACC Men’s U-16 East Zone Cup final
Disciplined bowling restricts Malaysia to 90 runs as Nepali top order seals nine-wicket win.

Nepal booked their place in the final of the ACC Men’s U-16 East Zone Cup 2025 with a dominant nine-wicket win against Malaysia at the Selangor Turf Club in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.
After bowling the hosts out for just 90 runs in 43.1 overs, Nepal chased down the target with ease, reaching 92 runs losing one wicket in just 11.4 overs.
Opener Parimarjan Yadav starred with the bat, smashing an unbeaten 59 off 35 balls, including five fours and five sixes. He shared an unbroken 75-run stand for the second wicket with wicketkeeper-batter Shiwansh Bajgain, who contributed 23 not out off 22 balls.
Earlier, Nepal’s bowlers put in a clinical performance after winning the toss and opting to field. Abhay Yadav led the attack with figures of 4 for 15 from his 10-over spell. He was well supported by Shubham Khanal, who claimed 3 for 12 in his 10 overs, including four maidens.
Malaysia were reduced to 4-2 in the third over and never recovered. Wicketkeeper Muhammad Fathul Muin top-scored with 38 off 71 balls, while captain Deeaz Patro was the only other batter to reach double figures with 10.
Bipin Prasad Sharma and Sachin Bhatta picked up a wicket each, while Suyog Bhattarai bowled tightly, conceding just 25 runs in nine overs.
Hong Kong and Singapore are currently playing for another final spot.
