Nepal defeat Hong Kong by 79 runs to enter Tri-Nation T20I Series final

Riding on a 92-run knock by Kushal Malla, Nepal steamrolled Hong Kong by 79 runs to enter the final of the Nepal Tri-Nation T20I Series on Saturday with a match to spare.
The Rhinos posted a competitive 214-run target and restricted the visitors to 134 runs in the stipulated 20 overs at the loss of eight wickets at the match played at Mulpani Cricket Ground in Kathmandu.
It is the third consecutive win for the hosts in the tournament. The Rhinos defeated Hong Kong by six wickets on Thursday and the United Arab Emirates by seven wickets in the opening match on Wednesday.
Anshy Rath top-scored for Hong Kong at 45 runs in the run chase. Aizaz Khan and Babar Hayat made 25 and 20 runs respectively.
Nepal’s Karan KC, Sompal Kami and Lalit Rajbanshi took two wickets each.
Earlier, opting to bat first after winning the toss, Nepali batters notched up 213 runs on the board at the loss of six wickets as Kushal Malla and Dipendra Singh Airee completed their half-centuries
Malla scored 92 runs off 41 balls with nine sixes and three hits to the fence before he was caught by Ayush Shukla off Haroon Arshad in 19.5 overs. Airee smashed 57 runs off 34 deliveries with six fours and two sixes. Aasif Sheikh scored 20 runs as Captain Rohit Paudel contributed 11 runs.
Haroon Arshad and Mohammad Ghazanfar of Hong Kong took two wickets each as Ayush Shukla and Aizaz Khan grabbed a wicket apiece.
Nepal will take on the United Arab Emirates on Monday.
