Manoj Prabhakar, head coach of Nepal’s national cricket team, has resigned.
The Cricket Association of Nepal said Prabhakar stepped down from his position with effect from Thursday.
The resignation of the 59-year-old Indian cricketer who returned home on Monday has been accepted, the national cricket governing body said.
He is the third coach of Nepal to depart in the past two years following the exits of former Sri Lankan World Cup-winning coach Dav Whatmore and Pubudu Dassanayake, both of whom quit without completing their tenure.
Nepal has performed poorly under Prabhakar’s leadership. The national cricket team’s downfall has been credited mainly to the coach's needless interference with the batting order.
