Sandeep Lamichhane has set a new world record in one-day international cricket, becoming the fastest bowler to reach 150 wickets.
He achieved the milestone on Monday during the ICC World Cup League 2 fixture, taking three wickets in the match to move to 150 wickets in just 73 ODIs.
The previous record was held by Australia’s Mitchell Starc, who reached the same mark in 77 matches.
Sandeep broke his own record progression in the format, having already been the fastest to 100 ODI wickets, which he reached in 42 matches.
In Monday’s match, he dismissed George Munsey, Brandon McMullen and Matthew Cross as he completed the milestone.
