EduQuest, in partnership with Excelsia College, Sydney, organised its 7th annual auditions to study Bachelor/Masters in Music in Australia on Monday. The event, held at Purple Haze Rock Bar, Thamel, saw over 100 participants showcase their musical performances in hopes of studying music in Australia.

Vocalist Swapnil Sharma and Associate Professor Lotte Latukefu of Excelsia College, hosted the audition. Latukefu has been visiting Nepal for over half a decade as part of the auditions.

She said, “This audition is a great opportunity for young Nepali musicians to showcase their talent.”

Latukefu believes Excelsia and EduQuest’s work with music in Nepal will be fruitful, citing, “We have had many students come from Nepal and do well in our music program. We have modified the program to be even more accomodative to Nepali students and their music background.”

Along with Latukefu and Sharma, the other guests were Archana Sharma, director of admissions at Excelsia and Country Representative to Nepal, and Bobby Abraham, chief of global engagement and partnerships.

The event also welcomed Her Excellency Felicity Volk, the Australian Ambassador to Nepal. This audition, which plays a crucial role in introducing many to formal studies in the field of music, is held every year and is accompanied by administrative assistance in the application by EduQuest.
