The second iteration of the International Children’s Theatre Festival is slated to kick off this Saturday.
Organised by Akshara School, the fest will feature plays from 11 countries: Nepal, Bangladesh, Denmark, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Germany, Russia, Indonesia, Slovakia and Switzerland.
“There is no doubt that drama has a significant impact on education. Through drama and performing arts, students get an opportunity to discover their skills as future artists, writers, directors, and playwrights,” the organisers said in a press note.
The first day of the festival will see participants from different nations come together to participate in a rally which will see the showcasing of culture, costumes, music and art from the respective countries.
Among other plays to be staged at the fest are Beauty Is a Beast (Nepal); Flower of the Soil (Bangladesh); Tomorrow (Denmark); Puberty (Sri Lanka); Masala Jokers (Switzerland); Colourful Through the World (Germany); and Carousel (Slovakia); among others.
The four-day fest will come to a close on May 29.
