Chandak ‘excited’ about kollywood debut

Speaking to the Post, Chandak said that after turning down a few scripts, she found a role worth exploring in Ranimahal. “Before I picked up Ranimahal, there were a few scripts on the table which I turned down, because I could not see myself portraying the roles assigned,” Chandak said. “When I read the script of Ranimahal, I found the role fitting. I could see myself playing the role.”
Chandak added that if all goes well, she intends to pursue her career further in acting.
“I am looking forward to this project, and if it turns out well, I will think about furthering my career in acting,” Chandak said. Even though she doesn’t have prior experience in acting, Chandak said she is enthused to explore the role in Ranimahal. Chandak is currently taking workshops along with the film’s cast.
Speaking about his new directorial, Himal Neupane said, “Even though the film was announced two months ago, we had to change the actors in the final moments. Now that we have roped in Nikita and a few other new faces, we are ready to start the photography,” Neuapane said.
Neupane informed that Ranimahal will start filming by the end of April.
Prior to this, the producers had roped in actors Barsha Shiwakoti, Prashant Tamrakar and Ashish Adhikari, but since the film was unable to go into production in the decided time, the actors had reportedly left the project. Producers have said that Ranimahal will be made with a total budget of Rs 200,000,00, and will be filmed in locations in western districts like Kaski, Syangja, Palpa, and Rupandehi.
Scriptwriter Deepak Poudel says Ranimahal centres on the impact of modernity on Nepali society, its consequences, and post-modern definition of love.
Ranimahal will also have veteran actors Nir Shah and Sushmita KC, alongside whom the film features actors BS Rana, Bhola Shah, Saugat Dhital, Uma Bebi, Bishnu Sapkota, Anurag Kunwar, Anamika Lamichhane and Pushpa Niraula, among others.
