Oral history at Yalamaya
The Nepal Public Library and the Center for Public History at the Srishti School of Design and Technology in Bangalore have come together to organise a lecture series on oral history
While the first lecture saw Indira Chaudhary talking about oral history and its interpretations, the second lecture in the series will be delivered by Padmini Ray Murray, on April 23, on the topic Public History and Digital Dissemination, and the Image. Murray will also talk about Archiving Images: Discoverability and Searchability (PRM) during the final session to be held on April 24. The programme will conclude on April 25 after the screening of a film Invoking Justice.
Chowdhury is the Director of the Centre for Public History at the Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, Bengaluru, India. She is also the author of The Frail Hero and Virile History (OUP, 1998), which was awarded the Tagore Prize in 2001 . Similarly, Murray is a faculty member at the Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore. She previously worked at the University of Stirling as a lecturer in Publishing Studies and Digital Media.
