Wholeness at Park Gallery
The Park Gallery is hosting an exhibition of paintings titled Wholeness at its gallery premises in Pulchowk starting April 19.The show is curated by Saroj Bajracharya and will be taking the viewers on a journey of Khadka’s life and works.
Khadka is one of the most respected abstract painters in Nepal. He has been
painting for over three decades now, and he believes that in order to understand the intricacies of life, one must go beyond physical perceptions. He explores the invisible and intangible aspects of reality; the forms in his work, according to the artist, do not refer to the materials and events of this world, but suggest something greater and beyond. The artist’s abstractions—dominated by hues of red, grey and black—are his quests to understand and comprehend the universe, life, death and existence as a whole.
Born in 1956 in Accham, Khadka graduated in Fine Arts from the Sir JJ School of Art, Mumbai. He has had six solo shows and has participated in various national and international art exhibitions.
Khadka was the recipient of the Western Regional Award in Art from the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts in 2010 and 2012.
