I think painters are creative, meticulous, and intimidating (in the very best sense of the word) personalities. The ‘mystery’ about them probably rests in the fact that they can live in two different worlds without being labelled bipolar (Well...we don’t really bother if they’re tagged as such, do we? They are always amazing, right?) Also, they are very discerning, receptive personalities; years of interacting with great minds—though lines and images, and prose and poetry—has made them the most complex individuals in the world.

What they think and what they paint make them their unique selves; they pour themselves onto their canvases is what makes them their unique selves. And it is when they do this that the other half of their personalities is out in the open, for the public gaze at and dwell upon. This is what makes them adorable.

 

My top 10 reasons for why you should totally date a girl who paints:

 

1. She is shabby. She is not from the world of roses and laugher and ‘perfect moments’. Actually, she is clumsy as an ox. And the great part about this is that she won’t judge you for your clumsiness but love you all the more for it.

2. She can paint her white bicycle in bright rainbow colours, and she can paint her wall all red and pink and green and blue. She is most alive when around hers canvases, her box of paints spread all about her. 

3. She’s not perfect and doesn’t expect you to be perfect. She might show up on a date in her paint splattered-jeans. And it’s no big deal. She can walk around sexy and vibrant without a pair of six-inch heels.

4. She has a vivid imagination. She’ll see things other people generally won’t, the colours that people miss and the moments some ignore. And you will find her scribbling through her pad while waiting for coffee, lost in the splendour of the world around her. Through her eyes, you will fall a little more in love with yourself.
